Top 5 Fitness Trends for 2018
We are excited to present our TOP 5 Fitness Trends for 2018. We have searched high and low,
researched every major health and fitness publication, and listened to industry leaders to compile this list.

#1: HIIT Training (High Intensity Interval Training) – Almost every article we looked at mentioned that HIIT training would again be the BIGGEST trend this year. HIIT Training usually only lasts around 30 minutes or less and requires short bursts of INTENSE movement. However, please be careful if you implement HIIT training since fitness professionals do see a much higher rate of injury.
#2: RECOVERY – If HIIT training is going to be a huge trend this year, we predict that you will see a big increase in recovery systems. The recovery trend that we think will be the most popular is Cryotherapy. Never heard of it? Watch this short video. Though some argue that heat is a better way to recovery, we predict cold recovery will be a trend this year.
#3: Fitness in 3D – That’s right, you read it correctly! We are predicting in 2018, you will see a rise with 3D elements being incorporated into our everyday fitness. From VR (virtual reality) fitness routines to Yoga studios incorporating sound baths, 2018 will see a HUGE rise in all things tech. Before we know it, robots will be our spin instructors!
#4: Group Training / Group Classes – Though this is not a new trend on the list, we feel this will remain a BIG trend for 2018. Group Training and group classes are all the rage. People LOVE working out with friends and family. What better way to do that than with a group personal training session.
#5: Fitness for Older Adults – With the baby boomer generation getting older, we predict we’ll see more and more classes catered to older adults. Over the last several years, we have seen a large increase in these types of classes and we predict in 2018 it will be so big that it closed out our top 5.
